My friend has crossed . It was Friday, a sunny day when Morph was layed to rest at his home... It is a lonely barn now but full of Moe memmories.. His spirit will remain at my home to run with the other horses in the wind.................... Peace, RocknMoon Edit to add photos..... Some of my favorite pictures of Mortie He is now home on my property and I have started planting bulbs around his area in the cool trees.....

Oh I am so sorry!!!!!!! He was such a standard bearer from the original "lot horses". How a breeder used him and then dumped him was shocking to a lot of us until we realized just how common that was.
Thank you for taking him and giving him a lovely last few years of life.

I just posted to his thread - I heard that you lost him and sympathize as I went through the same thing with Sunline. There is a point at which they are just a danger to themselves. You did the right thing and I know he LOVED his cushy retirement with you.
(For those who haven't been to bsnlark, it's like the horse buffet. Beautiful hay, any kind of grain and supplements they need - lots of treats - no expense is spared, that's for sure!)
It is always great to know their last home was their best home, the home they always deserved.

The very deep and real love is felt all the way through the wires & across the distance...from your heart to mine. I'm so sorry for your loss but thank you for loving a horse so much that you could let go.

Peggy, you made the hard and right decision. This was pure selfLESSness, and it was unequivocally in Morpheus's best interest. (((cyberhug))) I know how much you cared for him and it shows. Cathy is right, Peggy's Home for Wayward Senior and Dumped/Abandoned Horses is a great home. Her horses do not lack for anything.

Peggy, thank you for doing the right thing for Mort but I am very sorry for your loss, I know how even the right decision isn't the easy decision sometimes.

Peggy, I am so sorry for your loss. I know how much you love all your animals, this must have been a very, very difficult day. ((((((big hug))))))))) Of course today is very difficult, but I hope you are bolstered by the fact that you gave him the best last years any horse could ever hope to get. Run free without pain Mortphy...

Little late to the party here, but I wanted to say that I am extremely honored to have met Morph. He was such a gentle old man, and I enjoyed visiting with him this past spring. Peggy, you allowed him to know that people really aren't so bad, and I'm quite certain you provided him the best time of his life. On a side note, YAY! You posted pictures!!

I couldn't let Morpheous go without saying something. I remember when he was first seen at the lot; how gymnastic he was in his attempts to get away from the aggressive horses he was in with. It was heartbreaking. Then he was rescued and then needed rescue again and found it. He truly must have been a special boy. I never met him, but I know he was a great horse. Thank you every one that played a part in taking him in and caring for him when he needed you. Pam
