Classy moved to a new home yesterday! She is still in Ravensdale, but she now has her very own stall with a large attached paddock during fall & winter, and during the spring & summer, she will be turned out in a large grass pasture. There is also an indoor arena so Classy and I can ride all year round! She settled right in today as if she had been there for years and she immediately made friends with the geldings on either side of her. She was completely unphased by her new surroundings and by the time I left it was pouring down rain and she was cozied up in her stall! I forgot my camera today but I will post pictures soon!

Classy is doing awesome! I have learned a few things about Classy since moving to the new place...... she is not a neat stall keeper - so, the princess gets her stall cleaned 2-3 times/day she prefers only fine stemmed hay - otherwise, she leaves it in a pile and she might pee on it she stands nicely in cross ties (most of the time) - we didn't have crossties @ the old place she is not afraid of the farm cow - something she hadn't seen before with me she doesn't like watermelon and will spit it out on the ground We haven't gotten out on trails much lately due to all this rain......and speaking of rain, her rain sheet decided to "de-waterproof" itself and it got a bit damp underneath causing a tiny bit of cruddy skin fungus on her withers and bootie. I've treated it and it's gone, just waiting for the hair to come back in on her withers......I think it might be coming in partly white.....great Here's a few photos. She got a bath on Saturday and today I was bored and decided to braid her mane. Here's Classy sporting her new fly mask with one of her buddies - a 4yo fresian mare Classy and another buddy - a 25ish yo Appendix - they love each other

Classy and her friends have been slowly getting weaned onto grass over this past week. She's been having lots of fun running around and stuffing her face full of grass!!

Delasl & her gelding,Twist, and Classy and I went to Lake Youngs on the 4th of July for an early ride around the Lake! No rain and it was a great ride. Classy was as good as gold. You'll notice in the pic, she is back in a snaffle bit instead of her hackamore. She decided a few months ago that she didn't like the short shanks hanging from her face because they caused the reins to bounce around a bit at the trot.......princess didn't like the loose reins bouncing around like that and it made her cranky. Put the snaffle back in and voila, no more cranky princess. So much for the nice $80 hackamore. I think I'm going to look for a sidepull to use on the trails so she can munch on the foliage easier. This was delasl's first time out to Lake Youngs and she really likes the trail. So did Twist......the highlight of the ride was when we were walking along and all of a sudden he just quietly decided to tuck his front legs and lay down. He didn't try to roll or anything, he was just taking a rest. I only wish I had my camera to capture it but it was hilarious! Here's a couple of pics delasl took with her new camera!

Yes, that was a proud moment for Twist and me to be looking up at Classy laughing! That'll teach me to stop turning around and talking and not pay attention.
Also, since it was the 4th of July, fireworks where going off all around us and neither of them batted an eye. Heck, it was relaxing enough to want to lay down and take a nap!
Good luck at the SAFE show!

Great photos! And some of you may recognize that cute gelding as the horse used in some of the videos of our horses in training as the lead pony. Sharon, his owner, is one of our trainer's working students.

Yikes! I'm overdue on updating.....It's been over a year now since I adopted her! Classy is great. I did start her on Adequan in August at the recommendation of my vet. She has what he believes to be some arthritis in her left hind, but the Adequan has done wonders for her. I started riding English in May and I'm really enjoying it. I've been riding her about 3 times a week for 30-40 minutes, mostly walk trot. For the first few months, we just worked on getting her moving forward nicely, leaving her face completely alone. Within the last 6-8 weeks, we have started asking for collection and asking her to work off of her hind end. She is coming along really nice and has finally develped some muscle in her neck and hind end. I haven't been cantering her in the arena because she really lacked the hind end muscle to stay balanced, but in our last lesson, she was able to canter very nicely on a 20m circle. So, now the plan is to gradually start working the canter in to our lessons. I think I probably need more work at that than she does! Merry Christmas! and I even earned a Christmas kiss!
