I am SO happy to help! In the photos with the other horses in the background, the sorrel Thai, Cat67's new baby! She is such a joy to have here! I LOVE this mare! We are headed out to put on Classy's jammies, which she is borrowing from Honey. (Honey doesn't care...she's fat and fuzzy and shacked up with Dobbs in the arena) I realize that I'm quite far away, but anyone is welcome to stop by and visit at any time! Just be prepared to spend HOURS listening to me talk about the horses! I'm incapable of talking about anything else! I will post photos regularly on my photobucket account is you're interested. s264.photobucket.com/albums/ii172/KarenVermillion/Class%20Act/You can also read about the daily happenings on my blog: helpingjoy.blogspot.com/

I am so relieved, after all this time, that Classy has returned to SAFE and can find her perfect forever home. She's got a little bit of chubbing up to do, but I'm sure she'll rebound in no time flat.
Karen, where are you at?

... and I have missed that all this time? Sheesh, whole lot of observant I am!
Karen, I would love to come out and help out if you need me. I thought the houses in the sky line looked like Pasco.

How WONDERFUL that SAFE has Classy back! What a relief, it was so scary when the former owner refused any site visits, that I was imagining all sorts of terrible things. Good for them to realize that surrender was the best thing for the horse. She does look rough, but I'm sure she'll be back to her gorgeous self in no time flat.
Now I am hoping that SAFE can get Charisma back...that would be really sweet!! Hope she's doing okay.

I did just get an update on Charisma and she is doing ok. I need to go out there and see her soon but at least Dr. Hannah is their vet and she has seen her this past year. Charisma will never be sound for anything after that terrible injury, but she gets around well, so I am told.

I'm sure Karen is better equipped to give the details, but Classy has a vet appointment on Friday. All the updates I've heard are that Classy is doing absolutely outstanding!

Her foster mom told me today that we would be amazed at the improvement in her condition in the two weeks she has been there. She also says that Classy is far less depressed now than she was when she arrived. So things are looking up for this girl. She's having her teeth floated on Friday.

Karen, if you check this, where in tri-cities are you? I will be making multiple trips to Hermiston in the near future and would love to stop by if it fits your schedule. I have known Honey in the Money since she was a baby and a farm full of old TB mares is my dream come true. Most of mine are still young and bratty.

Karen, did you even HAVE a Thoroughbred before you met me and I influenced you? hahaha...I am contagious.

Jennywho - I'm in Pasco, about 1 mile due south of the Trac. Very easy to get to! You can e-mail me for directions. I have every other Friday off (January 23 being my next day off). PLEASE stop by and say to Classy and Honey and the rest of the mob!
Cat - I'll deal with YOU in a minute....
Classy is doing AMAZING!! One reason I am so excited is because in the photos above, it doesn't really show how bad off she really was! I'm going to try to take new photos that mimic the one above, so that you can hopefully see the difference. She is gaining weight and filling out along her topline, flanks, and on top of her butt. I think after her teeth are done, the real weight gain will start. She "played" with Thai, neck arched, tail flagging. I'll post an update after the vet leave.
Now...Cat... NO - I didn't EVER have a Thoroughbred before I met you. I always wanted one but alway thought they'd be WAY out of my price range. Little did I know all I had to do is show up and take my pick. By the same token, I'd never rescued a horse. I'd never driven 960 miles in 2 days on 4 hours of sleep either. See what you started???
