Okay, cats and kittens, we are almost there! First off I want to thank everyone for all the hard work you are putting into getting this show ready. It's been a terrific team effort this year, and I think we are going to have a fantastic show. The weather is supposed to be nice, and with the recent rain we've had, the arenas should be less dusty than they were earlier this summer.
I visited Bridle Trails yesterday, and I am really excited because this show ground is beautiful! They've done a lot of upgrading, including new vinyl fencing around the main arena and improvements to the warm up arena. The grandstands and the show office/announcers booth are fairly new and very nice looking. I think you'll all be impressed.
So let's get the final details hashed out so that we all know what we are doing when and why.
LOAD IN is between 6 and 7 am!
After 7am, no cars will be allowed into the show grounds so if you're not loaded in before 7am, plan to carry your stuff in from the parking lot. If you open the gate to drive in, you need to close the gate behind you immediately. Hopefully we can have a volunteer standing by to open & close the gate during load in. Cars and trucks must be reparked in the parking lot after load in.
VOLUNTEERS please try to arrive by 6:30am if possible!
When you arrive, come to the registration booth to get a nametag and to check in with Allison for assignments.
If you have a SAFE shirt already, be sure to wear it!
We are going to be short on shirts this year because somebody (me) did not order more of them in time. So if you already have a shirt, wear it! If you have an extra shirt, please bring it! We do have some shirts available for new volunteers, but we don't have extras, so please dress accordingly.
Volunteer Food and Drinks will be located in the front room of the tower!
Stop in and refresh yourself as you need to - there will be lots to eat! Restrooms are conveniently located nearby as well.
HELP NEEDED: Does anyone have a good working set of walkie talkies we can use?
We could use one or two sets, provided they actually work. PS They really need to work.
We are responsible for leaving the Park clean!
Participants are requested to clean up the area around their trailers when leaving and that includes hauling away their manure and bedding. THERE IS NO PLACE TO LEAVE MANURE AT BRIDLE TRAILS. Therefore, we're going to need to do a couple things:
We are responsible for keeping our participants safe!
Please familiarize yourself with the show rules, and keep an eye out for problems as the day goes on. In particular,
Look to these people for help if you need help!
Above all, have a good time and be a good ambassador for SAFE!

- Remind people that they need to clean up after themselves. Politely but firmly.
- If you see someone making a mess, remind them of the above.
- After the show, we will all have to work together to clean the parking lot and the show area. We will all be tired, but we have to do this. So if we all pitch in, it shouldn't take too long.
- Please bring a muck bucket and rake along with you to the show, even if you are not showing. (see above)
We are responsible for keeping our participants safe!
Please familiarize yourself with the show rules, and keep an eye out for problems as the day goes on. In particular,
- Horses are not to be left unattended unless safely tied to a trailer or one of the METAL hitching posts that are located around the park. No one is to tie a horse to anything besides the metal hitching posts. That means no tying horses to wooded fences.
- Horses that are sick, injured, or dangerous will not be permitted to participate in this show. If you see a horse that is being worked too hard, or does not appear to be happy or comfortable, please investigate and/or report to the Ring Steward.
- If you see a horse that is being mistreated in any way, please report it to the Ring Steward at once.
- Please be on the lookout for other stupid or dangerous behavior and do your best to help prevent injuries and mishaps.
Look to these people for help if you need help!
