Both Larry and myself want to thank Safe Horses for all they are doing for ALL the horses they rescue. We are very proud to have the opportunity to give 3 of these horses a loving home. Kokomo is doing fine and settling in well-we have introduce him to most of the other fam animals and they are getting along well. We let him out in the front large pasture Sunday and he loved it-runniing, playing and exploring the area. He came right up to me when it was time to go back in the paddock (which I appreciated). We have not mentioned him to our granddaughter as of yet-want to make sure he is calm with the new surroundings. We know how excited she will be. A special "thank you" to Bonnie for all she does-Come any time to see him and the others.
Again we appreciate all of you.
Larry, Pat, Amado, Sierra, Kokomo and all the other Lawson animals.

It's been a month since the last Kokomo update. Everytime I look at Phoenix and Sinatra - I think of Kokomo.
Would love an update and some pictures please. We miss our boy.

Koko has settled in very well and has become an accepted member of the herd. He took a few licks from both Sierra (Wildfire) and Amado (Perrelli) and has some bare spots in his coat to show for it, but all in all now everyone is getting along fine. I hope that after his winter coat comes in and he loses it next spring that most of those spots will be gone. I think I told you earlier that all the muzzle warts are long gone. We used the method that you told us about and it worked well. They all disappeared in about three weeks. He has grown considerably and has the sweetest disposition ever. Our granddaughter has seen him three or four times now and last weekend wanted to get up on him. Of course we couldn't let her but she did spend some time on Amado. When anyone comes to see the horses, Koko is one of the first ones to the fence. He just loves people. I have to tell you a story that happened about a month ago. Koko is being fed and housed away from the other four horses. It's actually in another field but all the horses can be within about 10 feet of one another at any given time. Anyway, because he is not eating with the others, I stand at the gate when they come in at feeding time in the evening, and divert Koko over to his stall. Any time our horses go through a gate, into another field, or into the barn, they always go in the same order, Amado being first because he is the herd leader and Koko last because he is the new guy. One day I had to move away from the gate to get one of our dogs out of harms way so consequently I was not in a position to tend to Koko. Without me realizing it, Amado had circled around me and when Koko started through the gate, Amado pushed it closed with his nose, keeping Koko where he was supposed to be. Little things like that are just amazing to me and my respect for all these horses grows every day.

No updates but I will see if we can get one. I know Phoenix's adopter is trying to get him registered. We know their bloodlines though - Kokomo is Summer's baby, sired of course by Seas the Golden Day.

Kokomo is by Seas the Golden Day out of SAFE Horse Summer, I think. Summer (reg. name Impromtu DHF(?)) is actually is a very well bred mare. Kokomo was her last foal. All three boys were sired by STGD, just had different dams.
