Because of the way Bridle Trails is laid out, it will be difficult to have the silent auction this year. Last year both the silent auction and the prize drawings were great successes. Raising quite a bit of money for SAFE. This year we will only have the Prize Drawings. So.....we need some donations for the prizes. I already bought a pretty purple bucket when they were on sale at Wilco. Anything you would be willing to donate will be greatly appreciated. Big or small. We can always combine the smaller items into a bundle. Please post your donation here. If you are going to the show, you can bring it with you. If you want to send it to SAFE, that would be great too. If you are here in Oregon, you can also send to to me. PM me for my address if you need it. If you have any other questions, please be sure to ask. Thanks in advance, Laurie

Trillium The Gift Saddlery whom i asked for a sponsorship doesn't give $, but they do donate items. Since i still haven't heard back from the peeps running the show, i am sure we could come up with some nice items. They just need some boundaries as to what we are looking for. They have books, videos, tack, clothes, gifts, just about everything except horses. So if you are interested in that, let me know so i can get back to them and not miss this generous opportunity.

Costco will also donate items, but you need to make your request 2 months in advance.

I've got some pretty purple fleece leg wraps that I won last year from the raffle. Since I haven't got a horse to wrap its legs they've just been sitting in their package ;D

Maybe we could get muffins or water or something similar that we could sell to make some $$ Liz, the purple wraps would be great. If you do not need them, maybe someone with a horse will win them this time.

For refreshments, the business costco in Fife has all sorts of great stuff like that. They have things for coffee shops, snack bars, all sorts of yummy things you cant get at the regular Costcos

I believe there is a concession stand at the showgrounds, who is willing to man it? I cannot fosee a problem with selling refreshments such as muffins, water, soda, juice, etc. we just need someone to step up and take charge of that.
Bonnie and I are working the show office and doing the announcing. We will need to have volunteers come forward to help with ribbons, in gate, set up for trails and hunter hack, a ring steward, a general go-fer and back up for all above mentioned positions. Hmmm, time to start a new thread.

Allison, I've pretty much got trails under control. I've designed the course, but I will need an assistant for help setting up. Mostly just makes it quicker. If we don't find someone, well then I can do it myself. I posted in show volunteers thread too

I can wrangle as many people that I can, but they will be non-horsey. At this point, we only have four people committed. For a successful show, we will need more than that. I would like to see a raffle drawing, perhaps for a english and/or western saddle package or something nice like that. Is anyone spearheading that effort?

Trader Joes will donate 1 basket per year per organization if the request comes in on Organizational Letterhead. I don't have any on me but I'd be happy to contact them if there is a form letter already in place that I can print out and give them. I have a local Trader Joes within a few blocks of my house and shop there frequently. I LOVE their surfboard themed re-usable bags!

If it's OK with Bonnie, I've sent out letters on SAFE letterhead. I'll draft it and send it to you, coconut.
Bonnie, sound OK if I do that to try and get a gift basket?

Sounds like we have a Western show saddle package that we can raffle off. How cool would it be have an English one too! If the Gift Horse only donates items, maybe they will donate a saddle/bridle or brush set?
