The only thing about the cards is that we can't print on the back - which is where we could have information about SAFE. I suppose printing labels to affix to the backs of the cards would be too time-consuming??

Well if I do them myself.. it is not a problem Plus then they will be on nice paper, and I can package them nicely. I will put these together this weekend and take some pictures of the finished products, and then you guys can start your ordering! Coconut- I could take a picture of someone wearing a Santa hat. Poor Sinatra's mane is all mangled now... Maybe Biscotti and Ariel instead?

I have a few different ideas on this. I'm leaning away from doing a regular style calendar - I have looked around and you can get a really nicely photographed one for $11.99 . If we do a calendar at all.. I'm thinking about something like this: www.paper-source.com/cgi-bin/paper/436891.html?cm_id=3000.422 (be sure to click "alternate view") It would be much more unique + beautiful... and I could make a much smaller quantity of these at home. I could do pre-orders so we wouldn't end up with extra. I feel like this has come down to the last minute, and we would really be stuck if we didn't sell all the calendars. It seems like a huge investment and too much of a risk at this point, I would feel much better about doing pre orders. $1800 seems like a ton of money to spend, especially going into this scary winter. The only thing about the cards is that we can't print on the back - which is where we could have information about SAFE. It is almost pointless to have images of the horses without a description. I have card templates and paper at home, so I could also do a pre-order and make these. I finished my paddock digging/pasture re-seeding this weekend so I will have the whole weekend to work on this (besides for halloween parties). Liz.. I will PM you if you don't see this... but would you still want to "donate" some of your images? I know you have some really nice ones of Deeds, and that fantastic one of Honeycutt cantering in the sunlight. Monica.. could you send me a high res. version of the image Phoenix leading Sinatra? That one absolutely needs to be included! So.. sound good?? I just felt like I needed to make a some decisions! I will start taking pre-orders immediately! I'm totally still in, just let me know which images you need and I'll get them to you. I think Honeycutt's albums are unlocked so you can save them directly and Deeds' might be too, I'd have to check. Another option for the cards could be to go through a company like White House Custom Color, who print in small batches. The profit margin wouldn't be as much since they're $1.06 a card our cost, but they're printable on all sides, inside and out (so we could have plenty of info on the back and maybe the SAFE logo on the inside etc). They also can be made to order, so theres no worry of getting stuck with extras. They also have free shipping. Just a thought

One thing about cards is that they can be sold every year until they are gone. It seems like 1,000 calendars is a lot to sell in the next couple of months.

Ok, so I have the calendars! I made 15 for Valerie, and have a few more ready, and can take some more orders. I can process about 15/week, but I could get a lot done over the Turkey day holiday. They come out to cost $6 for me to make, and so I'm selling them for $12, so it ends up being a 50/50 split. How Valerie did it was to write one check to me for 1/2, and a separate check to SAFE for the other half. Checks are probably better than PayPal because there is no service fee. It cost $5 to ship 15 calendars. I will get a picture up of the calendar later today. Oh and some of you will be suprised to see your pictures featured Each calendar has a card at back that credits each photographer

OK, here is what it looks like! I would like to get all orders before this monday... otherwise I can't guarantee they will all get done in time! These take quite a bit of time for me to pull together. Thanks!

I was proud to hand these out to everyone that I got to sponsor a class, was a major sponsor or donated something for the raffle. In case there are a couple horses you can't identify - the very last page is a photo compilation of each picture with the horse's name. And I am NOT biased just because Mr. Redmond is Mr. January! (modified to say that I handed these out as thank you gifts to people I got as sponsors....not all sponsors)

I would love to have ten if you can do that. I'd like to give them to people who I know who have donated to SAFE (and of course some others whom I'd like to donate to SAFE).

I received my BEAUTIFUL calendars in the mail today, Just in time to take one along to my luncheon in California for my Mom...I bet she gets all teary Anyway, I ran into Walmart and purchased an acrylic 5x7 frame for $1.00 because I knew she'd want to sit it on her desk. It turned out so nice and it'll be easy to change the months. It would also look lovely in a desk frame! Again, another great project from Leah THANK YOU!!!!!
