Oh no - I hate those plea deals. I don't want Rusty or Pal to go back...sigh.

I will certainly keep sending out those good thoughts that Rusty and Pal end up with SAFE and then are adopted quickly. Both deserve wonderful new forever homes surrounded by people who really care about them. Thank you for keeping us posted. Like a lot of you, I have been watching Rusty and have grown attached to this mellow guy.

oh no That horrible woman doesnt deserve any horses! She was told how many times to clean up her place? Well trying to look on the bright side there were a lot of horses taken off her property correct? Hopefully that makes the odds better they wouldnt have to go back (ok that didnt really help any )

Very much hoping she does not want Rusty back. He is way too nice for that...he really has great potential for the show ring and the kind, quiet disposition for a 4-H or young youth rider. This guy is just screaming to be dressed up in light oil western tack and jog around with an under-10 rider. He would love that life and be very good at it.

He looks beautiful Cat.
Still no word, unfortunately. Geri was unable to reach anyone on Friday to find out if any decisions had been made.

This is such a pins and needles situation. Like everyone else, I've still got my fingers crossed that she gives him over to SAFE or looses her case and he ends up with SAFE. Just a long waiting game.

And the waiting goes on....
The prosecutor met with Ms. Ouellet but came to no agreement. Now the prosecutor wants to meet with us (each of the rescue groups) on October 9th, which is next Tuesday. The delay continues, with no resolution still....

Ugh, what a pain!
At least you are going to have a chance to speak your piece.

Best of luck with this. He seems like such a nice boy. It would be such a waste if he ended up back in the hands of the abuser. I love these solid paints!
And yes I am a BIG sucker for them!

Hey Rose. I know you're a sucker for these BS paints.
I always have my fingers crossed for you guys. You SAFE gals do good things by all horses lucky enough to come into your hands...I really hope the law will be on your side in this case. It seems so ridiculous that people are allowed to have their horses returned to them given the circumstances. And you have to wonder...why does this lady even want them back? Can't she just go raise pet rocks or something?

Just got signed up but have been watching this posting for some time. Hopefully Bev doesn't get these horses back soon. I have personally seen her buy many of these horses at the local auction. None of them are "rescue horses" as she puts it. I was present the day she bought Pal, I believe she paid $800 (don't quote me on that) for him which is quite a bit considering he was near the end of the auction and the auction itself is fairly small.
For the horses sake I am hoping she never gets horses again-however, glancing at her house while on the freeway the other day, she now has four horses out in a "pasture". Hope they are safe.

Welcome to the board mrbakermiss! Interesting information about Pal - can you tell us anything more about him? When was the auction? Was he papered, and do you happen to know how old he is? Was he ridden in the ring or led in? Did he have a big scar on his back leg then or did he get that with Bev?
Pal has a lot of emotional baggage there so we are very curious about him. I hope we do not have to give him back....

The auction was April or May-I have no clue whether or not he was papered or how old he was-I'm thinking somewhere around 7-10 so you guys are right on with the age guess. He wasn't any older than that though, so he's still fairly young. He was ridden in the ring, and he was great for his rider. However, there was a horse that reared up once out of the ring and I'm not sure if that was him or another Palomino so that may be an issue with him. I do believe he had a scar but there were so many other horses in rough shape that I can't guarantee anything I've said (except the auction date).
Don't know if that helps, but I'm trying my best.
