Beamer's mom reports that: "we just concentrate on getting him to walk around the arena and follow directions. Really, he is at the point Bloomer was 4 months ago. He gets better each time he is worked. Time and patience, and he will be great. Beamer is always up to something - when they are turned out together, Beamer grabs Bloomers halter and tries to lead him around the arena - makes Bloomer sooooo mad!! That's Beamer - always up to something (although from his pictures you would never think that!)" Here's a picture of him with 1/2 (or 1/3, counting Oscar) of his new family.

Beamer was hilarious this weekend - sooo on the muscle, and looking for excuses to be a stinker, much to everyone (but me ha ha)'s consternation. There was a lot going on around him (the last picture shows the industrial sprinkler in the background, plus turned-out horses were going nutso all around...) and the air was fresh... Here are a few photos of the lovely Beamer (he's a cute mover but I didn't get good shots of that). He too is really bonded to his owners, and looks great. going... going... gone! ;D

Wow, he looked so well behaved, and then the last photo! (Jenny - must learn to use the "Action" setting on your camera). He looks great though!

Everyone was aghasted but me, but I laugh from having the same experience (different OTTB, but same thing). He did settle down and ended on a decent note. Heck I couldn't concentrate either, there was so much going on! V, hope you don't mind I posted that picture. In return, I will try to take similar pic of mine...

Beamer (and Bloomer) moved to a new barn, and his mom reports that he is doing great - here's a picture of him under saddle.

Beam also went to his first show this month! He did very well - out of 4 classes, he got two firsts, and a fourth. Only class he didn't place in was when he has a "Beamer" moment, and tried to run over the judge, arena steward and photographer! Next show is in September!

I just read this - that's so great for him. Like I said elsewhere, I just love to see them competing. It makes other people consider adoption as an option when they want a show horse.

I love to give updates like this!
There is a group called the Thoroughbred Exhibitors Association - Beamer won year-end awards in the following groups: Champion 14 – 17 English Pleasure, Champion 14-17 Western Pleasure. He also received an award for "Top 5 in Jumping."
Congratulations!
