Her 3yo son Interact (by Abstract) is about to run in his first race at Emerald.

Ooh! Thanks for the update! We will have to keep an eye on his progress.
Jaybird and Cardicorgi are down with Jolene at the OTBA sale, watched both Larkspur and Azalea's yearlings sell, but only for $1200. I think they will have some photos to share when they get back!

Darn, missed this thread earlier today...I have TVG and am pretty sure they showed the race. Shoot, would have loved to see an Azalea baby run...

Ack, he didn't do a thing. Chased the rest of the horses around. Bells A Boppin won the race.

Here's a pic of Azalea's filly Snow Kitten from the sale yesterday - she went for $1,500. [photo nonpermission from Jaybird]

Bells A Boppin is one of the trainer's (the trainer we like!) horses (Sharon Ross), so it's not so bad! Both of these yearlings are adorable! Azalea's boy was smart just to take his time - less chance of injury that way it would seem - he's a wise boy!

Azalea has been living the easy life. Just hanging out with the herd. She's been up and down in senority. When Moon Dancer (Shoqinah's mom) was gone for training, Azalea was #1 lady. Now that she is back, she's dropped back down to third. Poor girl. Look everyone, she's grown a tail!. She has the thickest mane and tail out of the whole herd. Of course, the diva would be mortified to see I posted a picture w/o her locks groomed, but I finally remembered to bring the camera outside and took advantage. She takes her job as auntie very seriously. She doesn't think Shoqinah has been taught enough manners so she fills in to let him know what is what. Watching him is a full time job!

Azalea was a funny lady on friday night. My friend came over for a family hair cut day and since it was so nice, we just all sat outside.
We were just talking and chatting away and I guess Azalea decided since we all were out there, we should be feeding her. When I feed in the morning, the grain pans are left in the pasture. Azalea walked over and picked one up and flipped it around over and over, looking at us to make sure we were paying attention. She was very funny.
It worked, for such a creative way of asking, she got her dinner a little early.

Azalea was always a beautiful girl, but she's stunning with a long tail! Bubba has finally grown his back and he's very proud of it - always swishing it around. I imagine Azalea feels the same way. Beauty and a sense of humor.

Azalea's adopter has refused further site visits from SAFE so we will be unable to provide any further updates on Azalea. Unfortunately, Azalea was adopted in February of 2006, shortly before we had an adoption contract in place. I believe that Azalea will be well cared for, but for those of you that rely on regular updates, it looks as though we will not be able to provide them.

You know, I think of Azalea quite alot. I sure wish her adopter would do an update on her. There are many of us who had special horses we followed and when we do not hear about how they are, it makes us sad and worried.

I know she has the best home ever but I want to see new pics of her and JR also! I love those guys!
