Have you found any goats yet? I don't have goats, but my friend and I have llamas that you could use.

The only goats we have are trillium's, but I don't know if the boys would like to make a trip from Oregon or not. I am guessing it would be easier on everyone (including her gas tank!) if we had something a little closer.
The only reason goats were brought up is that we used them last year, and they really worked out well. Talk about testing a horse when a little tiny animals jumps up next to it and starts bleating. The only issue with the llamas is that they require a bit more space than the little goats do.
And so everyone is clear, these animals are kept away from the kids doing lead line. We do not want lead line kids led past this particular part of the course due to the issue with spooking. Lead line only does half the course, and it's the pretty mild part of the course they need to do.

Hey, Jaime, Bonnie, Liz, Jenny or anyone on the BOD.....
If Leah and I offer to completely take this scavenger thing to run at the show (I don't want to further burden anyone on the BOD!) could we get permission to plan it? And obviously, everything would be run past the BOD before we actually DO anything.
If you're confused on what I'm talking about, see a couple posts back when I suggested it a few days ago

All right, we have a judge for the show! Heidi Hopen-Wright will be judging the classes for this years event. She boards her horse at Bedlam Farms where early SAFE rescue Sarah is the resident Diva. Woo Hoo! We are on our way!

I made a post in the General section about looking for a horse to ride in the walk/trot class and made a joke about "rent-a-rescue" but the more I think about it, the more I wonder if it can be done in some way. As pony rides maybe?? I don't know, but I am willing to help out in any way if there is a horse or two suitable for the job.

Whitewolf, I would be happy to bring Billy-Bob and Ralph. I am planning to come to the show to help. Just let me know if you want them. I can always put them in my big dog crates and drive them up in the truck.

I guess I didn't even think about that, trillium! I just didn't want you to have to haul the trailer all the way up for two little goats. Well that sounds good then. They are, after all, "experienced show goats." ;D
So Billy Bob and Ralph will officially be joining us in the trails course!

Speaking of the impending show - NOW is the time to start going out there and getting sponsors. I would REALLY like someone from the BOD to either go to or go with me to Barn Pros to talk about this years show.
I know it seems like we have plenty of time - but we do not. We need to start getting ready and getting sponsors now.

Can you tell me what you are needing in the way of sponsors? We own a restaurant and would love to sponsor to help cover some of your needs. Also, do you give out ribbons? If so, the lady I got Mercedes from does show ribbons for dog and horse shows. I could get some pricing if you could tell me what you need.

That's great Mymercedes!! I know Bonnie will be getting right back to you on that but basically last year, we had different levels of sponsorship - depending on which level was selected equaled the amount of advertising space alloted. All sponsors were listed somewhere in the program.
That is so generous and thank you thank you for being part of the show!!

I've just started a new thread in this section about Sponsorships. It outlines the different levels we're looking for.
Thanks for the offer to sponsor, mymercedes!! As far as the ribbons go, we do have some left over from last year, so we've been thinking of reordering from the same company again, but it wouldn't hurt to look at a bid from your friend.

Thank you for posting the sponsorship info. I will be discussing it with my husband and we'll be in touch soon!

I would love to see a raffle, if we could get an english and western tack set and sell raffle tickets for, like $5 each, we could do well.
As far as the Rent-a-Rescue, most of the horses available for adoption right now are all at least w/t rideable. So if they aren't adopted by then, it would be nice to have them in the show.
