As most of you may know, I adopted one of the bucking stock horses from CBER at the beginning of 2006. I had her about 3 months when she foaled a beautiful little filly. We named her Wind Dancer. I got the name from a dream I had a few days before she was born. Kurt and I worked on gentling Teddie as much as we could, but we did not want to pressure her to much because we were afraid she might transfer some of those fears to Dancer. This January Juliane took Teddie to work on training her. She wanted to know what I wanted done with her. I told her I would use her judgement as to how far Teddie could go in her training. I at the least wanted a horse I could handle and have vetted, etc. Well, this is how far she has come. ;D WOW All I can say is THANK YOU JULIANE.

Well, I am looking happy, but the person on Teddie is Juliane. But I really am smiling as much as she is. She is probably just happy Teddie did not try to buck!

She is probably just happy Teddie did not try to buck! ROTFL. Hey, any time you are working with an ex bucking horse and they don't, that's cause for celebration! Woo hoo for Teddie!

Here is a new picture of Teddie, her daughter Wind Dancer and my other feedlot rescue, Dream. Dancer is 17 months old now. Jamie remembers Dream(Sheba) she rode her, even though she wasn't broke to ride. I think I will rename this thread too. That way I can post about all my horses without starting a new thread.

New pictures to share. This is Teddie, looking out of her door and waiting for me to bring her grain to her. Elle is in the background. This is the rest of the bunch. They are waiting, and not patiently for me to come out of the grain room. It is amazing how each one has its own special nicker or whinney. And I know the sound of all of them. From left to right. Drummer and Katie. Ameer. Dream and Dancer. If you look very close you can see Teddie looking over the wall in Dream and Dancers stall. This last one is from Sunday. We divided Skeeters pasture. 23 post holes dug and concreted in. Geez are my shoulders are sore today. When it is finished. It will also have non climb horse wire and a round post top rail. It was so beautiful this weekend. I love the fall.

We got our field divided off over the last few weekends. All that is needed is to finish the top rails on Skeeters side. We took Dream and Dancer out and turned them loose in it today. They had a good time running around as they do not have that opportunity right now because their field was just reseeded this fall and is growing. Here are a few pictures from today. This is Ona Dreamaker and Wind Dancer(Teddies foal) Dream is looking over at Skeeter. He is doing some acrobatics trying to impress her. She was mildly amused but Dancer only cared about the green grass. I wish this had turned out clearer. Dancer was running and bucking. There is a log down in the field and she ran toward it and jumped over it like a pro. Then made a big turn slipped and fell on her butt. This is Drummer. He is about 29 or 30. He was used as a team penning horse by his previous owner. He still has a lot of spunk and in NEVER far from Katie. His back has sagged alot, I think it may be the saddlebred in him. He is supposed to be a saddlebred-Quarter horse cross. Thiis is Katie. She is 25. She a registered Arabian mare. I got her for free as the gal who owned her was going to send her to the auction after she had leased her out as a broodmare. When I wanted to get her papers though, she charged me $100. Still a good deal. She is the one with the bad leg. It goes up and down. She had one foal for me. (I still have him!) She was shown in Oklahoma at one time. I got her show info from the AHA website. Somewhere along the line she was in a horrible trailer accident which damaged her leg. They evidentally had surgery done to repair the damage to the leg, but she was left with a large scar. Which is the source of her enlarged leg. You can not see it in this photo because her tail is blocking it. She still travels sound on it though and can run and buck like the rest of them. She is my favorite mare. She has the best personality and would not hurt a fly. Thank goodness she passed this on to Ameer.

Kurt and I in our never ending quest to conquer the mud, devised a rain recovery system for one end of our barn. The water runs in the top of the barrel, where there are two screens to remove any debris from the roof. There is a tap on the bottom to run water into a barrel to scoop out for the buckets, and a hose attached to the top so if the barrel gets to full, it will run through the hose and out into a field. Now Kurt is just waiting for it to rain ;D He wants to check out our invention. If it works well, we will make one for the other side too.

Ha, Ha, Kurt is so funny. It RAINED last night. (It was only a matter of time LOL) He just came in to give me a report on how the barrel did. It was full and running out the hose into the vacant field. He was so excited, like a kid with a new toy. Now he wants to make another one. Gotta love the guy.
