Way to go HC good job BTW the lady with the mare emailed me and the person who was supposed to come and get her hasn't contacted her back so she is giving her 1 more day (today) and says I am next in line. She said she is looking for a semi retirement home. I wonder if this means she has soundness issues so I emailed her back and asked just waiting for an answer.

Wow HC...I am really impressed with the work you did on these two! I think it's great that they get the love they deserve and you are able to work with them.

HC, you are a wonderful steward for these horses, and I have no doubt that they thrive with your attention. It sounds like Jay is really trusting you!

thanks for the support on the friend issue no it wasn't easy and now she isn't speaking to me but I am ok with that I wouldn't of been ok had I caved in and she neglected a buetifull animal that I helped her get. Obviously she is no friend It wasn't personal just fact. If she could prove to me otherwise then maybe but I don't ever see that happening. I to use to groom horses muck stalls and anything I could just to be near a horse untill I got my own. Not because I had to or expected payment but just for the sheer joy of being in the presence of a horse

"Truman"... : ) You do such a great job for all the horses in need, you are really a credit to teenagers ( I know, I have one!! : ). Take care and again, thanks for the updates!

there you go! I explain to mine as long as their opinion is the same as mine - they can have one! I rode Rob; jumped on with my bareback pad, halter & rope. Oh my, what a treat he is! This afternoon I'm laying out the noodles, dragging my 'portable' bridge out & throwing in my 'streamer shower' just to add to the mix. We have just enough breese to move the streamers, it takes a few trys but they eventually just pass through and we are in no hurry around here. I've already got my white chalk lines down - Rob rolled on my first set..... Fin & Rob are the featured students today. If my hands aren't to full - I'll get some pictures.

So sorry to hear about these horses HC It really disturbes me when an animal doesn't get the care it deserves and needs It could be possible that he has a clogged tear duct. I think it's wonderfull that you try to help these guys. When I first got my horse, Dakota's brother then Dakota I lived in California and didn't have boarding for a short time and had to board at the fair grounds which was only a block away. I used to take her brother Vegas who was the only one I had yet and spend hours taking him out on a lead rope letting him graze Everyone used to make fun of me and make horrible rude comments on how I was wasting my time and money on some crippled horse he had fractured his leg when he was only a couple of weeks old. I had the farrier out every other week keeping his leg straight and putting on special pads etc.... which by the way he grew to be an incredible 16 H and sound at that I did how ever end up adopting him out to a wonderfull home much later which was hard to do but it was what was best at the time I still miss him He was such a kook and actually thought himself a dog lol. Anyway back to my story there were a lot of people there who didn't take care of their horses at all! I was continually taking care of these poor guys, water, feed and their stalls. they would come in, should the mood strike them I guess, and throw straw on top of the already nasty poopy stall rather than clean it! and the horses would stand in these stalls no water no food and knee deep in poop I wanted to turn them in but was worried of what kind of retaliation I would suffer (my horse) as it was total public access and abuse laws were not what they are today. so instead I just kept taking care of them. I to this day kick my self for not standing up to these people As far as your situation it's tough I don't know what you could do You could take pics, document etc... but chances are the person would only get talked to and then they would move them elsewhere and they would lose out even more probably as you wouldn't be there to care. It's a very sad situation I hope you find a solution.

What does the barn owner think about all this? I know when I used to board that it was required for my horses to be wormed and have shots and most of the places that I boarded had my horses trimmed when the farrier came to the barn and just charged me for it. I think that she may have more influence than you do over this woman. The only thing is that I would hate to see her move them somewhere else and there won't be someone there who cares about them like you do!!
