A few points of interest:
* our Management & General Expenses are higher this year than last. This is because during 2007 SAFE applied for its 501(c)(3) exemption, which cost a total of $750 in application fees to the IRS, plus an additional $40 to the State of Washington to revise our Articles of Incorporation. (The remaining $10 in Business Licensing expenses was the fee for the annual renewal of our business license with the state of Washington)
* SAFE spent $270 on the purchase of horses in 2007; as compared to $915 in 2006. The majority of the horses taken in by SAFE in 2007 were surrendered or awarded to SAFE.
* The following horses were taken in during 2007:
Rusty - (awarded to SAFE by Skagit Co Animal Control following a seizure)
Titan - (awarded to SAFE by Skagit Co Animal Control following a seizure)
Bella - (former SAFE horse, surrendered to SAFE by her owner)
Deeds - (surrendered to SAFE by his owner)
Dobbin - (purchased by SAFE at the Enumclaw Auction)
Bo - (purchased by SAFE at the Enumclaw Auction)
Bandit - (surrendered to SAFE by his owner)
Lexi - (former SAFE horse, surrendered to SAFE by her owner)
Jack - (surrendered to SAFE by his owner)
Whiskey - (donated to SAFE after being re-rescued from a feedlot)
Buckie - (surrendered to SAFE by his owner)
Shante - (surrendered to SAFE by his owner)
JR - (former SAFE horse, reclaimed from his owner due to neglect)
* The following horses were adopted out during 2007:
