If anyone is planning to haul over from Kitsap and has room in the trailer, I'll go.

mswan - yes you can help! Check out the thread "Poker Ride Planning" under the Volunteer forum and there is a post about what we need volunteers for so you can take your pick! PK will have to comment about the sponsor details. It should be lots of fun!

What about inclement weather? No way am I driving/hauling in snow-but at what point with rain/wind storm would it be called off? (Still waiting to see about getting the day off)

Hmm...I think we might have to start thinking about an alternate date. Latest weather report:

Sunday is looking much wetter than Saturday, and of the two weekend days, THIS is looking like the more likely day for more widespread snow. Whle we may very well have a few inches on the ground by Sunday night, we warm quickly into Monday afternoon, so the snow won't last long. However, it may just be a big enough window of white to give the kids a chance to build some snowmen. We'l keep you posted as we close in on the weekend!

I'm sorry but if the checks are made out to SAFE why can't we take them?

Today Donida Farm canceled their winter series show for tomorrow siting icing conditions. My trainer was over there in the morning to pay for our stalls and was informed the show was canceled. She noted that the driveways and parking areas were quite icy.

I'm worried about Sunday's poker ride but weather.com shows no rain until Sunday around 6pm. Has anyone been out to Bridle Trails to check out the parking lot and trails? are they icy? Safe? I'm certainly not the expert on riding trails in these conditions but at this point I'm still planning to come.

At what point will the event be canceled/postponed?

If it was going to be like today or yesterday outside, I'm still up for a ride!! I was not cold while riding, although I don't think I'd be doing a lot of trotting on hard surfaces, but a leisurely walk should be ok...right?

For those driving...please keep in mind that just because the air is in the 40s doesn't mean the ground will be. It's notorious around here the last few years for us to get icing type conditions because the ground takes way longer to warm up than the air does. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!

If it is icy or snows over this way (west sound), I probably will not be able to make it. Out of my driveway, much less over there!

Is there going to be a map of the trails available? My rule is to ride at least as long as the time I spend driving to an event. :-)

I think the weather will be fine. I know it is tempting to think up a reason not to do something that involves getting up early, hitching up, going out in the cold, etc. But getting going is the hard part. The people who wait for perfection never ride their horses!
All I have to do is find a nice red ribbon now and hopefully get home from work at a decent hour!

I know it says need be present to win prizes-but eeek-I don't want to dawdle on the way home if there is a possibility of snow. It is a bit of a drive for me.
